How a life path 8 loves
The achiever loves by providing. An 8 is loyal, generous with money and effort, and protective of the people it has taken responsibility for. The tradition reads its difficulty as control: an 8 is used to running things and a relationship is not a thing to run. Numerologists describe the 8 in love as the partner who will give you everything except its evenings, and who is surprised to be told that the evenings were the point.
Every rating below follows the Pythagorean pairing table set out in full on the compatibility guide. They say where a pair starts, and the paragraph for each says where the fit is easy and where it takes work. The calculator gives both life paths from two dates of birth, and the life path 8 page describes the achiever on its own.
What an 8 needs from a partner
Loyalty, respect and someone who will make it come home. The tradition reads the 8 as needing a partner who admires what it builds without being dazzled by it, and who is not in competition for the top job. The partner also has to be able to insist on a life outside the work and be heard. The pairs that go wrong for an 8 are the ones where the partner fights it for control, dismisses its ambition, or quietly resents the hours. The pairs that go right let the 8 run the business and make the home somewhere it wants to be.

Life path 8 and life path 1: demanding
Demanding, and the tradition says plainly why: two people who run things, one household. The 1 leads by instinct and the 8 by organization, and each is certain the other's way is wrong. Money is the usual fight, because the 8 plans it and the 1 spends it on the next idea. It works when the two run separate ventures and treat home as neutral ground. When a 1 and an 8 are on the same side, they are very hard to stop, which is the tradition's case for persisting.
Life path 8 and life path 2: natural match
A natural match of the classic kind. The 8 achieves, provides and runs the large things. The 2 supports, smooths the edges and keeps the 8 human. The 8 values the 2's loyalty more than it says, and the 2 feels useful, which it needs. The risk is that the 8 starts to treat the 2 as staff and the 2, hating conflict, lets it happen. It works when the 8 notices the 2's contribution out loud and the 2 asks for something for itself.
Life path 8 and life path 3: demanding
Demanding, in the tradition's word. The 8 is serious about money, time and achievement, and finds the 3 unserious about all three. The 3 finds the 8 heavy and its approval hard to earn. It works when the 8 learns that the 3's lightness is a skill, the thing that makes the 8's dinners and deals go well, and the 3 shows up for the parts of life that are not fun. The 8 and 3 pairs that last often run something together, with the 3 as the front of house and the 8 as the back.
Life path 8 and life path 4: natural match
A natural match built on effort. The 8 and the 4 are the two numbers that believe in work, and together they build more than either would alone: the 8 sets the goal and the 4 lays the foundations, and both respect competence and despise waste. The risk is that the relationship turns into a project with milestones and no evenings. It works when they schedule the rest as seriously as the work, which both will do if it is written down.
Life path 8 and life path 5: workable
Workable. In business the pair is good, because the 8's drive and the 5's adaptability point the same way. At home the 8 wants the 5 to be more reliable and the 5 finds the 8 controlling, and the 8's instinct to manage runs straight into the 5's refusal to be managed. It works when the 8 accepts that the 5 is not an employee and the 5 accepts that the 8's planning is not an attack on its freedom.
Life path 8 and life path 6: natural match
A natural match and the most traditional pairing in the set: the 8 provides and the 6 makes the home, and both value loyalty and effort above everything else. The risk is that the 8 treats the relationship like a business it runs and the 6 like a service it offers, so that neither is ever simply with the other. It works when the 8 comes home on time and the 6 asks for something for itself, because an unthanked 6 goes quiet.
Life path 8 and life path 7: demanding
Demanding, and the gap is in priorities. The 8 is outward, busy and ambitious and wants a partner who is present and on board. The 7 is inward, slow to act and indifferent to status, and finds the 8's pace exhausting. The 8 reads the 7's detachment as a lack of support and the 7 reads the 8's drive as shallow. It works when the 8 values the 7's judgment, which is often sharper than its own, and the 7 shows up for the 8's world now and then without having to be dragged.
Life path 8 and life path 8: workable
Two achievers: workable, and a powerful partnership when it is a partnership. Two 8s understand each other's ambition, respect each other's competence and can build something very large together. The risk is competition, and a home run on targets and reviews. It works when they are on the same side of the table, with the roles divided, and when the evenings are off limits to work, which two 8s will only manage if they agree it in writing.
Life path 8 and life path 9: demanding
Demanding, and the quarrel is over what the money is for. The 8 earns it and wants to build with it. The 9 wants to give it away. The 8 finds the 9 impractical and the 9 finds the 8 materialistic, and both are describing something real. It works when the 8 funds one of the 9's causes properly and the 9 lets the 8 keep the rest without guilt. The tradition points out that the 8's skill and the 9's purpose, together, do more good than either alone.
Life path 8 and life path 11: natural match
Read as a 2 with more feeling, so the pair follows the 8 and 2 reading: a natural match, with the 11's sensitivity turned up. The 11 reads the 8's moods before the 8 knows it has them, which is useful, and worries about them, which is not. It works when the 8 remembers that the 11 is a partner and not a department, and says so.
Life path 8 and life path 22: natural match
Read as a 4 with a plan the size of a city, so the pair follows the 8 and 4 reading: a natural match, and probably the most productive pair in the table. The 8 and the 22 can build an institution together. The risk is that they do, and nothing else. It works when something in the week is not the project.
Life path 8 and life path 33: natural match
Read as a 6 whose care reaches everyone, so the pair follows the 8 and 6 reading: a natural match. The 8 provides and the 33 gives it away, which is either a quarrel or a division of labor depending on how the two see it. It works when the 8 treats the 33's giving as the point of the providing and the 33 lets the 8 keep something for home.
