How a life path 3 loves
The communicator loves out loud. A 3 is affectionate, funny, flirtatious and expressive, and it needs a partner who enjoys the performance and can also tell when the performance has stopped. The tradition reads the 3 in love as warm and easily bored, the number most likely to leave a relationship that has gone quiet and most likely to regret it. Its gift to a partner is that life with a 3 is rarely dull. Its cost is that a 3 can scatter its attention across a room and leave the person at home feeling like the audience.
Every rating below follows the Pythagorean pairing table set out in full on the compatibility guide, and the paragraphs say what the rating means in practice. The calculator gives both life paths from two dates of birth. The life path 3 page describes the communicator on its own.
What a 3 needs from a partner
An audience, a floor and a sense of humor. The tradition reads the 3 as needing a partner who laughs at the jokes, who provides enough stability that the 3 does not have to, and who can take the occasional sharp line without keeping it. The pairs that go wrong for a 3 are the ones where the partner wants it to be more serious, or more consistent, or quieter, and says so often. The pairs that go right let the 3 be the light in the house and quietly make sure the bills are paid.

Life path 3 and life path 1: natural match
A natural match. The 1 gives the 3 what it most wants, an audience that takes it seriously and a direction for its scattered energy, and the 3 gives the 1 the lightness and company that 1s rarely make for themselves. There is no competition for the lead, because the 3 does not want it. The friction is the 1's attention, which is often elsewhere. It works when the 1 stops to listen and the 3 does not fill every silence.
Life path 3 and life path 2: workable
Workable. The 2 is the listener the 3 has been looking for, and the 3 gives the 2 a social life and a lot to laugh at. The problem is depth of attention: the 3 is drawn to the room and the 2 wants to be the room. A 2 who feels like the audience rather than the partner goes quiet, and a 3 rarely notices quiet. It works when the 3 keeps some of the show for home and the 2 says when it feels unseen.
Life path 3 and life path 3: workable
Two 3s are read as workable: a lively, funny, sociable pair who talk constantly and finish nothing. Nobody in the house keeps the accounts or books the dentist, and both are prone to the 3's habit of saying the sharp thing because it was clever. It works when they divide the dull jobs on purpose and agree that wit is not a license. The reward is a relationship that is never boring, which is rarer than it sounds.
Life path 3 and life path 4: demanding
The tradition's demanding pair, and the reason is temperament. The 4 plans, saves, and keeps to the schedule. The 3 improvises, spends, and is late. The 4 reads the 3 as flighty and the 3 reads the 4 as dull, and both are partly right. It works when the practical side is the 4's and the social side is the 3's and neither criticizes the other's department. The 4 gets a life with some fun in it and the 3 gets a life with a floor under it, which each secretly wanted.
Life path 3 and life path 5: natural match
A natural match with a lot of energy in it. The 3 and the 5 both love new things, new people and the next trip, and together they make the couple everyone wants at the party. The friction is that nobody is minding the shop: two numbers that dislike routine can let the practical side of life slide. It works when they decide together what is fixed, the rent, the health, one steady friend, and let everything else move.
Life path 3 and life path 6: natural match
A natural match, and easy to see. The 6 builds and keeps the home the 3 would never get round to, and the 3 brings warmth, talk and laughter into a house that could otherwise be a little dutiful. The friction is money and tidiness. The 3 scatters and the 6 counts. It works when the 6 lets some mess stand and the 3 turns up for the dull parts of family life, because a 6 measures love in attendance.
Life path 3 and life path 7: workable
Workable, and odd at first glance: the 3 talks and the 7 thinks, and the 7 can find the 3's chatter wearing while the 3 finds the 7's silence cold. What makes it work is that the 7 is the one partner who hears what the 3 actually said underneath the performance, and the 3 is the one who can get the 7 to say anything at all. It works when the 3 respects the closed door and the 7 comes out of the room to laugh.
Life path 3 and life path 8: demanding
Demanding, in the tradition's word. The 8 is building something serious and finds the 3 unserious about money, time and ambition. The 3 finds the 8 heavy and finds its approval hard to win. It works when the 8 learns that the 3's lightness is a skill, the one that makes the 8's deals and dinners go well, and the 3 shows up for the parts of life that are not entertaining. The 8 and 3 pairs that last tend to run a business together where the 3 is the front and the 8 is the back.
Life path 3 and life path 9: natural match
A natural match that the tradition describes as generous. The 9 gives the 3 a cause worth talking about and the 3 gives the 9 a voice and a sense of humor about its own seriousness. Both are warm, both are expressive and neither is petty. The friction is that neither is practical and both can be vague about money. It works when they agree who keeps the accounts, and when the 3 does not take the 9's wider commitments as a slight.
Life path 3 and life path 11: workable
Read as a 2 with more feeling, so the pair follows the 3 and 2 reading: workable, with the 11's sensitivity turned up. The 11 hears everything the 3 says, including the throwaway lines, and the 3 does not always mean them. It works when the 3 learns that its words land harder on an 11 than on anyone else, and the 11 says so at the time rather than a week later.
Life path 3 and life path 22: demanding
Read as a 4 with a plan the size of a city, so the pair follows the 3 and 4 reading: demanding. The 22 is building for the long term and the 3 is living for the week, and each can find the other baffling. It works when the 3 is given a real part in the 22's project, usually the part that involves people, and the 22 remembers to enjoy something before it is finished.
Life path 3 and life path 33: natural match
Read as a 6 whose care reaches everyone, so the pair follows the 3 and 6 reading: a natural match. The 33 gives the 3 a home and a purpose larger than itself, and the 3 gives the 33 the lightness it will not give itself. It works when the 3 looks after the 33 a little, because nobody else will, and the 33 lets it.
